TaxAutomator collects only the information needed to operate the API, manage subscriptions, protect accounts, and answer support requests.
Information We Collect
- Account and contact details such as name, email address, company name, and support messages.
- Billing status and plan information from Stripe. Full payment card details are handled by Stripe, not stored by TaxAutomator.
- API usage data such as request counts, plan quotas, rate-limit events, timestamps, and diagnostic metadata.
- Session and security data used for login, password reset, fraud prevention, and service protection.
- When advertising measurement is allowed, campaign parameters such as utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term, and utm_content, plus platform click identifiers such as gclid, gbraid, wbraid, fbclid, and msclkid.
How We Use Information
- Provide and improve tax-rate lookup services.
- Manage billing, subscriptions, API access, usage limits, and support.
- Monitor reliability, investigate errors, prevent abuse, and maintain audit records.
- Send operational messages related to accounts, invoices, security, or service changes.
- Measure whether campaigns lead to product actions such as starting checkout, sending a contact request, creating an API key, starting a subscription, or completing a payment.
Analytics and Advertising Choices
Essential storage used for security, authentication, and requested services is always active. Analytics and advertising measurement are optional and start denied. The Privacy choices control lets you reject optional processing, allow analytics, allow advertising measurement, or change a previous choice.
Analytics measures page use and product-funnel events. Advertising measurement preserves campaign attribution during the browser session and may load tags from Google Analytics and Google Ads, Meta, Microsoft Advertising, LinkedIn, or TikTok when the corresponding platform is configured. A platform that is not configured is not loaded.
When permitted, TaxAutomator may associate campaign fields and click identifiers with Stripe Checkout metadata and aggregate conversion records so a completed subscription or payment can be attributed to its originating campaign. These records do not include full payment-card details. Rejecting or withdrawing advertising consent stops optional advertising measurement, clears session campaign storage, and prevents configured advertising tags from loading again unless consent is granted later.
Sharing
We share information only with service providers that help operate TaxAutomator, such as hosting, Stripe payment processing, analytics, configured advertising measurement, monitoring, and support tools, or when required by law. Each provider processes data under its own terms and privacy controls.
Retention and Choices
We keep account, billing, campaign-attribution, and operational records only for as long as needed to provide the service, evaluate campaigns, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain audit history. Use the persistent Privacy choices button to update optional browser processing. To request access, correction, deletion, or export of personal information, contact us.
